Female entertainers are lashing out after continuous reports of the increased attacks on our women and children across the island. Lady Saw, Cecile and D’Angel are among many celebs expressing concern. Queen of the dancehall, Lady Saw who is recording a song with Marcia Griffiths which speaks briefly to the issue, is urging families to pray more.
Meanwhile, Cecile is imploring dominant male deejays step forward and take a stance.
While, D’Angel who says she is scared about what is happening to our women and children in Jamaica says communities need to work together and government officials need to come forward. Jamaica has seen an increasingly high number of our women and children being raped, killed and abducted in the past few months. Keep it locked to Music News to hear views from our male entertainers, how they view the issue and if they feel any sense of responsibility as it relates to the problem.
