Romain toSet Trinidad Ablaze

November 6, 2009

Reggae singer Romain Virgo left the island yesterday for his first performance in Trinidad alongside fellow ace-Reggae artiste, Jah Cure this weekend.

"It feels so good to finally be going there. It has been a long time in the making; but because of school it's been such a hectic situation. The songs have been doing well here and I can't wait to hit the stage and have people see me here live for the first time," said Virgo, also a student at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.

The youngster who rose to prominence shortly after winning the Digicel Rising Stars competition in 2007 has since released an onslaught of hit songs Cyaan Sleep, Wanna Go Home, Murderer, This Love, Love Doctor in addition to others. He says, "I have plans to perform in other Caribbean islands soon, but I have to make sure that it doesn't affect my courses at school. As soon as that's in the clear, people can definitely look out for me more often in these countries."

Virgo returns to the island on Sunday.
