Lyrics:Queen Ifrica- Lioness On The Rise

October 6, 2009
Prelude:

Are you ready, oo oo oo ooo (x4)

When the roll is called out, I'll be standing tall up
To face the darkest and the hardest of times.
We'll be taking care of, all the children thereof,
But if it's required we'll be on the frontline.

Chorus

You can call me by my name
I am ready to roll;
Once the rules remain the same
How the story's been told;
Call me anytime, never cop out,
Lioness is on the rise
Don't you ever have doubt.

Never say never, willingness forever to find, and be strong
Once it's for better i'll every letter and moving right along
And i'll roll with the punches, accept the changes;
Work with the formula, do what I have to do.

Chorus

And call be by my name
I am ready to roll;
Once the rules remain the same
How the story's been told;
Call me anytime, never cop out,
Lioness is on the rise
Don't you ever have doubt.

When you are willing to serve, we have room to observe
To see if you can walk the walk you talk.
Let me give you my word, my voice must be heard.
Bravery is the beast of my heart.

Chorus

Call be by my name
I am ready to roll;
Once the rules remain the same
How the story's been told;
Call me anytime, never cop out,
Lioness is on the rise
Don't you ever have doubt.

Repeat vs 1

When the roll is called out, I'll be standing tall up
To face the darkest and the hardest of times.
We'll be taking care of, all the children thereof,
But if it's required we'll be on the frontline.

Chorus

You can call me by my name
I am ready to roll;
Once the rules remain the same
How the story's been told;
Call me anytime, never cop out,
Lioness is on the rise
Don't you ever have doubt.

Call be by my name
I am ready to roll;
Once the rules remain the same
How the story's been told;
Call me anytime, never cop out,
Lioness is on the rise
Don't you ever have doubt.

Update:Gramps Morgan Delivers at Citi Field

October 6, 2009

Queens, NY- On Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 reggae crooner, Gramps Morgan filled Citi Field, home of the legendary New York Mets baseball team, with the sweet sounds of reggae music.

Delivering a sizzling pre-game performance, Gramps warmed the hearts of thousands of baseball fans with a rendition of "Don't Cry for Jamaica", a single off of his chart-topping solo, album, 2 Sides of My Heart Vol.1. In fine form, Gramps' voice bellowed throughout the open air ball park which reverberated from the thunderous applause that followed him off the mound, where he stated:

"This is a historic moment for me as it is first time in my entire career that I have performed in a stadium before thousands of baseball fans. To have my image beamed live on the big jumbotron screens at a ballpark that I grew up close to as a youngster is a very special moment for me. I am happy I was able to represent for Jamaica, the Caribbean and all my reggae fans".

Prior to game day, Gramps' album slid into the #1 spot on New York Reggae Charts, another home run since the album went #1 in South Florida, three weeks ago.
2 Sides of My Heart Vol.1 is currently the top seller in both cities.

Media Marketer Anthony Turner, one of the coordinators of the pre game event said,
"Gramps is a talented artiste who today has broken new ground in his career."

Roy "Gramps" Morgan has been having a whirlwind year thus far with two major US tours with Grammy winners India.Arie and John Legend; in August, his debut album 2 Sides of My Heart Vol.1 had one of the strongest reggae debuts ever, racking up impressive sales of over 12,000 units in its first week. In the same month, he performed at two sold out back to back events at the World famous Madison Square Garden and topped off the summer with a strong performance at Irie Jamboree in New York before hitting the road in September with reggae star Buju Banton.
