Reggae artiste born Michael Augustus Lynch popularly known as "Mikey Pelpa" drowns, while attempting to enter the United States via Florida. According to maimiherald.com, "a Bahamian man is facing federal charges in Florida following an attempted migrant smuggling venture that left a Jamaican man dead." Sources of mydancehallmadness.com stated that the unknown man is "Mikey Pelpa".
"A criminal complaint filed Wednesday charges 19-year-old David Rolle with alien smuggling. Four other men were charged with illegally trying to re-enter the U.S. after deportation."

"Authorities say a 28-foot speedboat was being chased off South Florida's coast Tuesday night when people on the boat began to jump overboard. The body of an unidentified Jamaican man was later discovered about 30 feet from shore."
Prosecutors say a duffel bag containing 60 pounds of marijuana was also found on the boat.
Rolle is being held without bail. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
