Patrons Turned Away From 'I Am Blessed' Concert

aPRIL 30, 2010
Kingston, Jamaica - Dancehall artiste, Mr. Vegas gave nothing short of an explosive performance at the "I am Blessed" gospel concert held at the Evanda Child High School in Bronx, NY, last weekend. In fact, anticipation about Mr. Vegas' performance was so high, that many eager patrons had to be turned away from the already overflowing venue.

The venue which was filled to capacity roared with excitement and praise as Mr. Vegas belted praise and worship songs to the crowd. He says, "The experience was a tremendous one. Even though I was the performer, I felt so blessed being there and giving thanks to God for every blessing He has bestowed on
me. The song, I Am Blessed was my testimony about all the difficulties I've been through and something I know others out there can relate to and likewise, I hope the show was a blessing to others."

Mr. Vegas will be donating his payment from the concert to the Martha's House Children's Home, for children living with HIV/AIDS. "The home was demolished last year by fire and there are still a number of things that they need for completion. So this is my way of helping them and reaching out," said the singjay whose correct name is Clifford Smith.

Mr. Vegas is currently in Guyana to perform at the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup match. He returns to the island on Monday.
