KINGSTON, Jamaica --Defence attorney Tom Tavares-Finson in making closing arguments in the Vybz Kartel murder trial Tuesday morning said that the prosecution’s case “has been ripped apart and left bare ... their lies and conspiracy exposed”.
Tavares Finson told the jurors that the prosecution was “trying to trick them” and showed them contempt by not offering an explanation how the control CD went missing and how investigating policeman Cornwall ‘Bigga’ Ford lost his notebook which contained critical information to the case. The control CD was used to provide evidence presented where voices alleged to be the defendant’s were taken from cell phones.
“I am asking you to be appalled at what the prosecution is asking you to deal with,” said Tavares-Finson. “There are too many contradictions in the prosecution’s case.”
Vybz Kartel (Adijah Palmer) along with Shawn 'Shawn Storm' Campbell, Andre St John, Kahira Jones and Shane Williams are being tried for the murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams.
